Kiss Cam Show model Katherine Webb with a young boy?

Photo shows model Katherine Webb seated next to a child at a sporting event. The caption reads: “Awkward kissing cams: see what happened after this moment.” This advertising bait has been disseminated on the web:

The link leads to an ad-infested 25-page slideshow that does not include any entry on Katherine Webb and does not refer to the photo above. This is probably because the image has nothing to do with a “fuck cam”.

The photo shows Webb – a model and former Miss Alabama USA – attending the 2013 Bowl Championship Series game between Alabama and Notre Dame. Back then, Webb (now Webb-McCarron) was dating Alabama quarterback (and current Houston Texan) AJ McCarron. The couple married in 2014.

The photo shown in the ad represents a briefly notable moment that has nothing to do with the child in the photo. The photo roughly captures the moment ESPN announcer Brent Musburger was criticized for spending too much time describing Webb’s physical appearance when he introduced her as McCarron’s girlfriend.

The introduction of a “fuck cam” in the title of the slideshow is a baseless innuendo designed to drive clicks to a page littered with ads. As such, the implication presented in the ad is false.

Snopes demystifies a wide range of content, and online ads are no exception. Deceptive ads often lead to obscure websites that host long slideshow articles with lots of pages. This is called advertising “arbitrage”. The advertiser’s goal is to make more money from the ads displayed on the slideshow pages than it cost to display the initial ad that attracted them to it. Please feel free to submit any ads to us and be sure to include a screenshot of the ad and the link to where the ad leads.
